This week we picked up a few things aswell as our weekly veggies. We picked out some cocoa butter soap that I am excited to try out, she had all sorts of scents like coffee, sage, lavender and oatmeal. Along with eating local veggies we figure why not use some local homemade soap too! I appreciate knowing there aren't any funky ingredients on the label, and supporting a lovely vendor. We also picked up some organic cheese. Even if Im not eating cheese these days, it doesnt mean Jody isnt! If he's indulging in his cheese habits I feel good about supporting a local organic farmer.
I am loving all of our thrifted/garage sale treasures. We picked up this chair from a garage sale for a whopping $10. As we were walking away Jody said the gentleman we bought it from reminded him of my grandpa. I can see why. He was a kind, soft spoken, and polite man and my grandpa is all of those things, along with being the wisest man I know. Love Grandparents! Along with the chair we found a basket that may or may not clip onto my bike, a coffee grinder (that I use to grind up oat flour or nut flour), 2 vintage Tupperware containers (25 cents for two!), espresso cups, a plant, and The Joy of Cooking book. Jody laughed when I said I wanted it, Its not that I am going to be cooking from it, I just really like the color and its from the 60's. Before we moved into this place I went into a major purge zone. I got rid of 60% of what we owned for numerous reasons-either they were too big (living in 373sqft people!), or I didn't think we would have room for it. Now that we are moved in we can really see what we have room for and what we need. These purchases were obvious needs.
